There’s a scene from the graphic novel where he busts through a wall, takes the guy’s machine gun… I took that little vignette from a scene in The Dark Knight Returns, and at the end of that, he shoots the guy right between the eyes with the machine gun. 저는 기술적인 방법으로 그것을 하려고 노력했어요.
유튜브에는 배트맨이 사람을 죽이는 장면들이 잘 설명된 한 영상이 있어요.
심지어 사람을 죽이지 않는다고 받아들여지는 놀란의 시리즈에서요.
제 생각에 배트맨은 잠재적으로 이전의 영화에서 42명은 죽였었어요!
또한, 팀 버튼 배트맨 영화속에서도요.

그래서, 저도 간접적으로 표현하려고 노력했죠.
사람이 아니라 차를 쏘고, 차가 폭발하는 거죠. 수류탄은 그들의 손에서 떨어지게끔요
또는 그는 악당 대신 그가 착용한 가스 탱크를 쏘는거죠.
전 그가 지금 당장은 죽이지 않는걸로 받아들입니다.
하지만 설령 악당들이 뭔가 터지는 것과 연관이 있어도 그 이후의 일에서 배트맨은
그건 네들이 잘못한거지 내 잘못 아님 같은 태도를 취하는거죠.

살인이라기보다 좀 더 과실치사 같은거죠.
프랭크 밀러의 다크나이트 시리즈에서도 배트맨은 탱크를 타고 포를 쓰며 기관총도 쏩니다.
매시간마다 죽죠. 다크나이트 리턴즈에서도 일부 그런 씬을 차용했고,
끝부분에서는 아예 정수리에 대고 총을 쏘더군요. 물론 저는 그 대신에 화염방사기 통에다
쏘는 걸 택했고, 같이 작업한 사람들이 왜 그 악당을 직접 쏘지 않냐고 해서
나는 그렇게는 안 할 거다! 라고 대답했죠.
